Final conference of the GreenPoint project - Conclusions

The final conference of the GreenPoint project was organised by GNFA in Paris on Wednesday 17th of September.

This event was the opportunity for the partners in the project to enlight the results of this project, and share with the stakeholders this positive experience.

Didier Arnould, director of GNFA introduced the day by thanking all the participants. As introduction, he said that "the succes has been reached, and we can congratulates the partners for this work". Indeed, over 95% of the trainees were satisified with the pilot training, and 100% raised their initial competences. If the main difficulty was to convince enterprises to join the project, their is a clear need and a green market to work on.

Eleonora Piccime, from Orgalime, Representing Interests of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, Metalworking & Metal Articles Industries, came back on the need for this kind of initiative in order to support SMEs to get a better knowledge on EU regulation such as WEEE or waste regulations.

Alejandro Soliveres, from FEMEVAL and Cécile Sauvage, from FEH, also came back on the project, presenting its context, partners and main activities. Cécile thanked partners for their work, and participants to take part in the initiative. After this, each partner made a short presentation with the course results observed in each of the particpating country.

Partners wanted a dynamic final event, and for this reason, they gave big importance to the experts of the project, who were invited to participate in a round table. During this session, they answered to a series of question about the metal economy, jobs and market needs. They also talked about the need to provide proper training to future generations and to attract them toward this challenging sector.

Those environmental experts, who collaborated in the project during those two years, are Juan Manuel Arnandis from SGSpain, Alain Zavier from Alza Solutions – France, Paul King from MIG SGS Enviromental – UK, Thomas Gaer from Handwerkskammer Service – Germany and Agnieska Borkowksa from Jan – Tech – Poland.

After the conference, partners and participants were invited to share a network lunch.
